On January 9th, 2023, 41 West Perry FFA members attended the 107th Pennsylvania Farm Show and Pennsylvania FFA Association Mid-Winter Convention. While there, members enjoyed their morning with friends exploring the Farm Show and were able to observe and learn about different agricultural opportunities. They also enjoyed delicious Pennsylvania Preferred food from the food court. In addition, they had the opportunity to speak to several colleges associated with the agriculture industry. West Perry had one student, Vera Innerst, receive her Keystone Degree. This is the highest degree an FFA member can be awarded in Pennsylvania. While she is wrapping up her High School FFA career, seven other students are starting theirs. Lila Kretzing, Reagan True, Olivia Neff, Melanie Sheaffer, Tyler Nailor, Sawyer Seidel, and Cayden Sturgeon-Jadro received their FFA jackets through the Pennsylvania FFA Alumni Scholarship Program. These members had to write an essay about what the jacket means to them and why the jacket is so important. Congratulations to all members receiving a degree, award, or a jacket; you deserve it!
