This school year, the West Perry School District Safety and Security Department will be recognizing students and staff for their work in keeping our school community safe by presenting a quarterly Safety Award. Please consider nominating a deserving student or staff member:   
 

West Perry School District Student and Staff Safety Award
The WPSD Safety Award recognizes one WPSD student or staff member who consistently demonstrates exceptional commitment to safety by:
  • Following exemplary safe practices at school and work
  • Identifying potentially unsafe situations or conditions
  • Taking action to prevent or correct hazardous situations
This award honors individuals who not only maintain high safety standards themselves but also help create a safer environment for the entire WPSD community.

Award
The award will be presented quarterly during the school year. The selected West Perry student or staff member will receive a certificate.

Nomination Guidelines
  • The objective of the award is to recognize a student or staff member for extraordinary activities related to safety in the school/workplace.
  • Previous winners of this award are eligible, but preference is given to new awardees.
  • Any member of the West Perry School District Community (Student, Staff, Parents, Community Members) can nominate a student or staff member for this award by completing a nomination form
Selection Criteria
  • Consistently follows safe school and workplace practices. 
  • Responds promptly to identify and address safety hazards. 
  • Actively promotes safe practices among peers and colleagues. 
  • Prevents accidents and injuries by promptly alerting administration or maintenance to dangerous conditions. 
  • Goes above and beyond normal duties to ensure others' safety. 
  • Provides information or takes action that helps correct potentially unsafe situations. 
  • Has participated in preventing significant harm to a school community member or provided lifesaving assistance.
