Superintendent

Dear Mustangs Families and Community Members,

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jeff Kuhns, and I am excited to begin my career as the Superintendent of the West Perry School District. I have lived in Perry County for the last 32 plus years and previously have had the opportunity to work as a teacher in the Newport School District and for the Capital Area Intermediate Unit and as an Assistant Principal in the Susquenita School District. My most recent position was as the Elementary Principal in the Greenwood School District for the last 13 and a half years.

Over the last three decades I have developed a passion for working with students and teachers and have found that Perry County is where I want to do that work. We have some great communities up here and I am looking forward to learning more about the communities that make up the West Perry School District. For me, the position of superintendent in your school district was a logical next step in my career as I strive to have an impact in the county that I have adopted as my own.

My leadership style is based on building relationships and drawing on my previous relationships to enhance the culture that already exists. I intend to be a visible leader and lead by example. You will see me out and about at school and community events and I hope that you will take the opportunity to stop for a greeting. My door will always be open to field your questions, comments and concerns.

It takes a tremendous amount of trust to place your most prized possessions - your children - in our hands. I appreciate your faith in me for allowing me this opportunity. I look forward to working tirelessly for this community and this district to assure that we continue to prepare, inspire and empower every student, every day!

Sincerely,

Jeff Kuhns
