Winter Guard

High School Winter Guard Senior Students

Congratulations to West Perry School District Indoor Guard for their successful season. Both the Middle School and High School have Indoor Guard teams, led by instructors Nicole Wood, Emily Cramer and Krystal Ditty. West Perry is the only school in Perry county that participates in winter guard.

There are 10 high school students and 11 middle school students who comprise the teams. The High School team worked on their routine from December through April and performed for judges 8 different times throughout the season. Their routine was a four minute show “Surrender” performed to Head Above Water by Avril Lavigne. The Middle School competed six times throughout the season. Their show was called Scarecrow and that was the song they used.

The Middle School ended their group season in 3rd place out of all of the other Middle Schools in the Tournament Indoor Association. Their score was 78.62.

The High School attended the Indoor Guard championships at Wildwood, New Jersey April 28-May 1. They competed on Friday and Saturday and made to semi-finals, placing 10th with a score of 78.56. While at the regional championships, Isa Bentz won performer of the week.

The students had a great experience this season and they are looking forward to next year. They wish the best of luck to the two senior teammates, Lacey Shirk and Victoria Taylor.
