Student Council News 2012-2013
May 2013-Student Council has had a wonderful, but chaotic year. We are looking forward to one more spirit day, combined with a community fundraiser. On May 24 Student Council will hold Twin Day. Along with Twin Day we will also be holding Hat Day to raise money for the Perry County Animal Rescue. This is a wonderful organization. They will be visiting our school on Wed. May 22 with some of their wonderful critters, and caregivers. We want to welcome them and make them feel at home here at Blain. On Fri. students who donate $1.00 will be permitted to wear any (appropriate) hat of their choosing for the entire day. We hope everyone will participate and help this wonderful organization, as well as show their school spirit. And, don't forget to find your twin for that day, too!
You can also visit the Perry County Animal Rescue site on Face Book!
PS...I would like to make this font bigger, but am having technology problems at the moment. sigh! Thanks for your patience and support this year!

What is Blain Student Council?
Student Council is a school based organization that is run by the students, for the students. We try to make a difference in our school, as well as in our community and try to set good examples for the other students in our building.
Student Council members are willing to have fun, yet work hard. They are responsible, stay out of trouble and above all are role models for the remainder of the student body. We meet every other week on Day 5 of the school schedule.
In the past Student Council has not only held a variety of School Spirit Days such as jersey day, mix/match day, funny hair day, hippie day, etc. but has also held a food drive for a local food bank, Pajama Day to assist Make-A-Wish Foundation, and to raise money for the Clouse Memorial. Penny Wars has taken place for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society as well as, "Hat Day" for the Highmark Caring Place. We have also collected pop tops from cans to recycle and donated the money to Paw Prints Sanctuary along with items collected at a drive to assist Paw Prints Sanctuary and Canine Corps. All of the proceeds from these various fund raisers were utilized within our own area.
This year Pajama Day was held on Friday Oct. 5th. The donations were collected for the Lymphoma/Leukemia Society. Student Council raised $290.00! And, everyone always enjoys wearing their PJ's to school (even the teachers)! Thank you for your on- going support!
Spirit Day will be held on Thurs. Oct. 18th. Please wear your West Perry Mustang-Green and White to show your school spirit! Go Mustangs!!!!
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions please feel free to talk to any member of the Student Council. We are always willing to help! Or, you can contact Mrs. Fuller at bfuller@westperry.org or Mrs. Zendt at jzendt@westperry.org or at school...717-536-3219.
