Welcome to the Environmental Stewardship Club!
This club is advised by Mrs. Jennifer Bandura who is the ninth grade Earth/Environmental Science Teacher. The club is open to students in 9-12 grades and meets on day 3. If you are interested in protecting natural resources, educating others about environmental issues, and being a good environmental steward...this club is for you!
Club initiatives may include:
Coordination of the high school recycling program.
Environmental awareness programs targeted to high school students, faculty, and staff.
Presentations to middle school students on recycling and other environmental concepts.
School beautification projects (courtyard improvements, tree plantings, landscaping).
Participation in the Great PA Cleanup program.
Local field trips to educate members on environmental issues.
Newsletters to parents and community members on environmental topics such as protection of private wells and radon awareness.
Meetings with government officials to discuss local, county, state, and federal initiatives and programs.
Guest speakers to educate club members on environmental concepts.
Development of a county-wide drinking water testing program.
