Mr. Matthew Wieseman is Director of Bands for the West Perry School District in Elliottsburg, PA where he directs the 6th Grade Band, 7th and 8th Grade Band, High School Concert Band, Middle and High School Jazz Ensembles and the “Mustang” Marching Band. He also serves as the Director of the Historic Singer Band of Mechanicsburg, PA.
Mr. Wieseman was born and raised in the Harrisburg area. Upon graduating from Cedar Cliff High School in 1990, Mr. Wieseman went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from West Chester University in 1994. While at West Chester, Mr. Wieseman studied trumpet and conducting with Dr. Kenneth Laudermilch. Mr. Wieseman recently graduated from Messiah College with a Masters in Wind Band Conducting degree where his principal conducting professor was Dr. Bradley Genevro. Mr. Wieseman is the assistant principal trumpet of the Greater Harrisburg Concert Band and has also served as a guest conductor for the organization.
Mr. Wieseman is currently a member of the Music Educators National Conference, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and the National Band Association.
