I am looking forward to beginning my fifth year as the Title I Reading Intervention Specialist at New Bloomfield Elementary School.
Title I is a program that provides federal funding to our school. The purpose of the Title 1 reading program is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach his/her reading potential. Students who are identified as needing reading assistance, are given the opportunity to build necessary reading skills and develop a passion for reading that ultimately leads to lifelong learning.
The Title I Reading Intervention Specialist provides support by:
Offering student remediation that enhances and/or reinforces the classroom instruction.
Providing learning opportunities to create a bond between school and home.
Acting as a resource person for teachers, students, and families.
