Kindergarten Registration

The online Kindergarten Registration event for the 2020-2021 school year was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The following steps will outline the process that will be in place for Kindergarten registration. If your child will be 5 years old before September 1, 2012, he/she is eligible for Kindergarten in the 2020-21 school year. 

Students who are currently enrolled in the West Perry PreK Program do not need to be registered for Kindergarten. 

PLEASE NOTE: Steps 1 and 2 must be completed by June 15, 2020. YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ENROLLED UNTIL BOTH STEPS ARE COMPLETED.

  1. Complete Online Pre-registration - A parent or guardian must pre-register their child(ren) by completing the online enrollment form.
    • The online enrollment form is completed using PowerSchool Enrollment. If this is your first time using PowerSchool Enrollment, you will need to create an account.
    • An online enrollment form must be completed for each child. After the first child is added, you can click the link to 'Add' an additional child.
    • Access the enrollment form at www.westperry.org/kregistration

  2. Provide  Required Documentation - After completing the online enrollment form, you must provide required backup documentation. The following documentation is required (detailed information for each category is below):
    • proof of your child's age (child's birth certificate)
    • immunization records
    • two proof of residency documents
    • parent/guardian's photo ID
    • other documents if applicable
    • you may provide this documentation via the following methods:
      • Preferred method: in person at the District Office. Call 717-789-3934 x5500 or email dshunk@westperry.org to schedule an appointment. Social Distancing and other precautions will be implemented to ensure the safety of families and staff. 
      • via email. Scan or take a picture of documents and email to dshunk@westperry.org 
      • via postal mail sent to 2606 Shermans Valley Rd, Elliottsburg, PA 17024
  3. Obtain Physical and Dental Examination - students should have a physical and dental examination prior to starting Kindergarten. Official forms should be taken to the appointment and completed by the physician or dentist. These forms can be sent to the school when school starts in the fall.

 Required Documentation:

  • Proof of your child's age: Any one of the following constitutes acceptable documentation: original birth certificate, notarized copy of birth certificate, a valid passport, notarized/certified record showing the date of birth, notarized statement from a parent or relative indicating the date of birth, prior school record indicating the date of birth.
  • Immunizations required by law: Acceptable documentation includes: the child's immunization record, a written statement from a former school district or medical office, verbal assurances from the former school that the required immunizations have been completed with records to follow.
  • Proof of residency (two required): Acceptable documentation includes: a deed, lease, sales agreement, notarized statement from landlord, mortgage information, driver's license or  DOT identification card, utility bill, current credit card bill, permit to carry card, vehicle registration. If residing with a district property owner, the property owner must sign a notarized "multiple occupancy form."
  • Photo Identification: This is required in order to notarize documents at the registration appointment such as sworn statement attesting if the student has been or is suspended or expelled for offenses involving drugs, alcohol, weapons, infliction of injury or violence on school property.
  • Other documents: 
    • Court Orders or Custody Agreements
    • all Special Education documents (IEP, IFSP, ER, RR, NOREP), Service Agreements (504) or any other records relevant to your child's education.
