Federal Programs
Federal Title I funds are used to improve student achievement. The West Perry School District operates School-Wide Title I programs at each of the elementary schools. Federal funds support reading specialists and paraprofessionals who assist students in meeting reading standards. Title I schools must meet federal regulations regarding teacher and paraprofessional qualifications.
Parents may request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child's teacher(s) and of paraprofessionals who provide instructional services to their children. The West Perry School District will notify parents if their child is assigned to or being taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not highly qualified in a core academic subject. Please contact the principal at your child's school to learn how to receive this information.
