Language Arts
Course materials needed are a three inch, 3 ring binder which will be used for Reading and Language Arts
Language Arts does not have a textbook of its own, we use the Reading series books which incorporates Language Arts within it. The series is Storytown by Harcourt Publishers.
Grammar is taught which includes the eight parts of speech, as well as, punctuation, dialog and sentence structure.
Writing skills are also taught. The five paragraph essay and three paragraph essay structure is introduced. Types of essays students will learn about and write include informative, persuasive, and narrative.
