Each day brings a new challenge, a lesson to be learned (or relearned!), and the opportunity to positively influence someone. I very much enjoy what I do. For that, I am grateful.
I have been a school counselor for 19 years; all the while actively engaging in education from the elementary level to middle school to college.
Professionally, some of my experiences include:
-Training in Managing Sudden Violent Loss in School, Peace Making/Keeping Skills, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Instructional Support, Asperger's Syndrome, and Harassment and Bullying.
-Certification in Critical Incident Stress Management Training.
-Designing curriculum for sexual harassment, nonviolent communication/respect, and developmental guidance.
Additionally, I also have been fortunate enough to collaborate and consult with nonprofit organizations which reach out to adjudicated and at-risk youth, the disenfranchised and homeless, as well as children and their families who have been victims of sexual abuse.
Personally, I make my home in Mechanicsburg with my wife and six year old twins. I enjoy baseball, canoeing, and mountain biking. When I can, I like to relax with a good book or take in a movie.
